Quick answer: First check the link itself (deleted, folder or password links never play). If the link is fine, refresh the player for a new video address, switch to Wi-Fi, try another browser, and for MKV or AVI files download and play them in VLC.
A quick checklist before you retry
Run through these five checks. They solve most problems in under a minute.
- Does the link open in TeraBox's own web page and show the file? If not, it is dead. See link errors explained.
- Is it a single video, not a folder or a photo?
- Did you paste the full link, including the part after /s/?
- Is your internet working on other sites right now?
- Have you tried pasting it again for a fresh video address?
"This link is invalid or has expired"
This means TeraBox has no file at that address any more. Deleted, cancelled and expired shares all fall in this group. No player can fix it. Ask the sender for a new link, ideally with permanent validity. The difference between "invalid" and "expired" is covered in this guide.
Video loads but will not play
Black screen with sound, or sound with no picture
The file uses a video format your browser cannot decode. This happens with some MKV, AVI, HEVC on older Windows, and 10 bit files.
- Try another browser: Chrome and Edge handle the widest range of formats.
- On Windows, install the free "HEVC Video Extensions" from Microsoft for HEVC files.
- Or download the file and open it in VLC, which plays almost everything.
The player spins forever
- Paste the link again. The temporary video address may have expired.
- Turn off any VPN or ad blocker for a moment, as some block video streams.
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to rule out a network block.
No sound at all
- Check the volume in the player and on the device.
- On iPhone, check the silent switch.
- If it still has no sound, the audio track may use a format the browser cannot play, such as some AC3 or DTS tracks. Download and use VLC.
Slow download speeds
TeraBox servers decide the speed. Free TeraBox accounts are slowed on purpose inside the app, and shared files served to outside players can also be slow at busy times.
- Download at quieter hours, early morning tends to be faster.
- Use Wi-Fi or a cable connection.
- Pause other downloads and streams on your network.
Buffering while streaming
Buffering has its own guide: why TeraBox videos buffer and how to fix it. Short version: pause for 30 seconds to let it load ahead, lower other network use, or download the file and watch offline.
The download stopped halfway
- Open your browser's downloads list and tap Resume.
- If it will not resume, paste the link into the player again and download fresh.
- Make sure you have enough free space, plus about 10 percent extra.
- Turn off battery saver on phones while downloading.
The file downloaded but will not open
- Wrong app: your gallery may not open MKV or AVI. Use VLC.
- Incomplete file: if the size is smaller than shown in the player, the download did not finish. Download again.
- Name without an extension: rename it to end with .mp4 (or the extension the player showed) and try again.
- Zip or rar file: this was not a video share. Extract it with your phone's Files app or a desktop tool.
When it is genuinely not fixable
Some cases cannot be solved by any player:
- The uploader deleted the file or the account.
- The share is password protected and you do not have the code.
- TeraBox has blocked the file.
- The file itself was uploaded broken or incomplete.
In all of these, the only route is asking the sender to upload and share it again.

Frequently asked questions
Why does my TeraBox video play on one phone but not another?
The other phone's browser may not support the video format, or it has a VPN or blocker active. Try Chrome, or download and use VLC.
Why is my TeraBox video stuck at 0:00?
The video address expired or the server did not answer. Paste the link again in the player.
How do I fix a TeraBox download that keeps failing?
Resume it from the downloads list, or get a fresh address by pasting the link again. Use Wi-Fi for big files.
Can I fix a corrupted TeraBox video?
If the download was incomplete, download it again. If the uploaded file itself is broken, only the uploader can fix it.
Does clearing the browser cache help?
Sometimes. If the page behaves oddly, clear the cache or open the player in a private tab.
