TeraBox Player for iPhone and iPad (No App Needed)

Safari can play TeraBox videos perfectly well once it gets the real file. Here is how to watch, save to Photos, use Picture-in-Picture and fix the formats iPhone does not like.

Quick answer: On iPhone or iPad, copy the TeraBox link, open play.ontrepid.in in Safari, paste and press Play. To save, tap Download, then open the file in the Files app and use Share, Save Video to move it into Photos.

iOS is strict about apps. When you tap a TeraBox link, Safari often hands it to the App Store, or the mobile page shows a banner that blocks the video until you install TeraBox. Even after installing, you need an account, and the app is heavy for someone who only wants to watch one clip.

The fix is simple: let Safari play the video directly. Safari has one of the best built in video players on any phone. It just needs the real address of the file instead of the TeraBox page. That is what our TeraBox player iPhone users rely on: a TeraBox video player Safari can open, which also works as a TeraBox downloader iOS can save from. It is the easiest way to watch TeraBox without app iOS installs, and the same page works as a TeraBox player iPad users can keep in split view.

How to watch a TeraBox video on iPhone

  1. In WhatsApp, Telegram or Messages, long press the link and tap Copy. Do not tap it once, or iOS may open the App Store.
  2. Open Safari and go to play.ontrepid.in.
  3. Tap the box, tap Paste, then tap Play.
  4. The video loads in the page. Tap the full screen icon or rotate your phone.

Tip: tap the share icon in Safari and choose Add to Home Screen. You get a one tap TeraBox player icon that opens like an app, but installs nothing.

Save a TeraBox video to your iPhone Photos

Safari saves downloads to the Files app first. Moving it to Photos takes two extra taps:

  1. After the video opens, tap Download. Safari asks if you want to download the file. Tap Download again.
  2. Tap the blue arrow in Safari's address bar to see progress. Big files take a while on mobile data.
  3. When it finishes, tap the file, or open the Files app, then Downloads.
  4. Open the video, tap the Share button and choose Save Video. It now appears in Photos.

If Save Video is missing, the file is probably MKV or another format Photos does not accept. See the next section.

MKV or HEVC video will not play on iPhone?

iPhone plays MP4 and MOV with H.264 or HEVC video perfectly. It does not play MKV files in Safari, and some AVI or WMV files will not open at all.

Picture-in-Picture, AirPlay and full screen

  • Picture-in-Picture: while the video plays full screen, swipe up to go home. The video keeps playing in a small floating window. You can also tap the PiP icon in the player.
  • AirPlay: tap the AirPlay icon in the video controls and pick your Apple TV or AirPlay compatible TV. The video plays on the big screen while your phone acts as a remote.
  • Speed control: tap the three dots or the speed icon in the player to watch at 1.25x or 1.5x. Handy for lectures.

Troubleshooting TeraBox on iPhone

  • Nothing happens when I tap Play. Make sure you pasted a share link with /s/ in it. If you see an error, read what it means in our link error library.
  • Video plays without sound. Check the silent switch on the side of the iPhone. Safari videos follow it in some cases.
  • Download stops when the screen locks. Keep Safari open until the download completes, or use Wi-Fi so it finishes faster.
  • "Cannot open page" after a long pause. The temporary video address expired. Paste the link again to get a fresh one.
  • Private browsing download vanished. Downloads from private tabs still go to Files, but check the Downloads folder on "On My iPhone" rather than iCloud Drive.
